37: Mind Your Head, Dear
Welcome to episode 37! Coming to you from a different town, in a living space that currently looks as though a book explosion happened in a Parcel Force depot. The books are unruly and have minds of their own, they insist on occupying certain spaces with or without my consent. They like dark corners, they say, it’s better for breeding. And I’ve obviously found the right burrow for them because they wasted no time in getting down to the breeding part. They are multiplying under the window ledge. I swear I had nothing to do with it.
Anyhow, book breeding aside, Nick and Fluffy-Frost are done sunbathing in my absence and would like me to get on with it, please. Their story won’t tell itself and Fluffy Frost is reminding me that she has other matters to attend to, besides micro-managing me. She has a whole forest to run, thank you, and she wishes she had better staff.
I will be back with writer’s notes again next week, for now:

In here, in the silence, the air seemed thick with the Presence of the one she called God. She was half afraid an angel would turn up or something and shock her to death.
She’d knelt down on the altar step and there she’d stayed, she didn’t know how long.
